RCC, ACC script resounding wins

JAMMU, Nov 5: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) and ACC defeated their rival to stay alive in the ongoing Eid-Diwali Milan T20 Cricket Cup, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police Department in collaboration with Simula Software at MA Stadium, here.
In the first match ACC defeated Doordarshan XI in an easy contest by 9 wickets. Winning the toss and batting first, DD XI scored 120 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Sanju top scored with 41 runs, while Ravinder Singh and Anoop contributed 18 and 12 runs respectively. For ACC, Ajay and Madan bagged 2 wickets each, while Balbir claimed one.
In reply, ACC chased the target in just 10.1 overs by losing one wicket only. Balbir and Bablu played power-packed knocks of 33 and 32 runs respectively. Balbir was adjudged man of the match for his all-round performance.
In another match, Rainawari Cricket Club thrashed Atman Cricket Club by 7 wickets in a one-sided affair. Batting first, Atman Club scored a modest total of 103 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Chetan Singh Chib scored 20 runs, while Gurmeet and Saleem contributed 19 runs each. Narotam was the wrecker-in-chief for RCC, who claimed 4 important wickets, while Venus bagged 2. Kuldeep and Rohit claimed one wicket each.
RCC, rode on a superb batting display by openers Siddarth Magotra and Zeeshan Akram and chased the target in just 9.3 overs by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets. Siddarth scored electrifying 62 runs off 31 balls with the help of 10 fours and 2 sixes, while Zeeshan contributed well made 26 runs off just 12 balls. Ajay contributed unbeaten 9 runs to the winning cause. For Atman Club, Raman bagged all three wickets. Sidharth was adjudged man of the match for his brilliant knock.
The matches were officiated by Suhail, Ashwani Kumar and JD Singh as umpires, while Sunny Gill, Romario and Amit acted as scorers.
