JAMMU, Dec 7: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar defeated Birpur Cricket Club by 6 wickets to move into the next round of the ongoing All India T20 Cricket Championship, being organized by Youth Cricket Club Bhalessa at MA Stadium, here.
Winning the toss and batting first, Birpur Club scored a fighting total of 139 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Atul Sharma was the top scorer with 38 runs, while Aman Singh contributed 36 runs and Ankush Singh chipped in with 14 runs. For RCC Srinagar, Dilbag Singh took 4 important wickets, while Akash Choudhary bagged 3 wickets and Kuldeep claimed one.
In reply, RCC chased the target in 19.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Ahatsham top scored with 44 runs, while Honey contributed valuable 41 runs. Ankit Basan chipped in with 15 runs. For Birpur Club, Gagandeep took 2 wickets, while Girdhari Lal claimed one. Ahatsham was declared man of the match.
The match was officiated by Sachin Singh and Bablu as umpires, while Virender Singh was the scorer.
