RCC, SCC outplay rivals; register berths in next stage

JAMMU, July 9: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) and Satish Cricket Club (SCC) outplayed rivals in their respective matches and registered berths in the next stage of the ongoing Jammu Tawi Summer T-20 Premier League, being organized by Jammu Tawi Sports Club, at GGM Science College hostel ground, here today.
In the first match, RCC registered 4 wickets win over Nagrota Young Star (NYS) and sailed into quarterfinal round. Batting first, NYS scored 127 runs for all out in 19.4 overs. Rohit was the top scorer with half century, while Niju and Rahul made 21 and 14 runs respectively.
From RCC side, Kuldeep scalped 3 wickets, while Sourab, Puneet and Rahul clinched two wickets each.
In reply, RCC chased the target for the loss of 6 wickets in 19.1 overs. Rhythm Mahajan was the top scorer with 30 runs, while Mukul made 28 runs and remained not out. Vivek and Parveen chipped in 15 and 14 runs respectively.
From NYS side, Irshad scalped 3 wickets, while Niju and Madan took one wicket apiece.
In the second match, Satish Cricket Club (SCC) thrashed Gozers XI by 11 runs and entered into the next stage of the tourney.
Batting first, SCC made 102 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 18 overs. Harsh made 30 runs and remained not out, while Gourav and Amit scored 23 and 12 runs respectively.
From Gozers XI side, Rakshit and Arun Koul scalped 2 wickets each, while Shubam took one wicket.
In the second inning, Gozers XI failed to chase the target and bundled out at 97 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 18 overs. Rakshit scored 35 runs and remained not out, while Abhishek and Jatin made 19 and 16 runs respectively.
From SCC side, Rahul scalped 2 wickets, while Ravi and Ankush took one wicket each.
Harsh of SCC was adjudged as Man of the Match.
