RCC Srinagar outplays KCSC; JCC loses to NMCC

JAMMU, Apr 18: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar defeated KC Sports Club by 9 wickets to enter quarterfinals, while formidable Jammu Cricket Club lost to NMCC by 6 wickets, thus helping NMCC to enter the semifinals of the ongoing Jammu Kashmir Premier League T20 Cricket Tournament at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
Earlier, in the first match played today, KC Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first, KCSC scored a modest total of 122 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Hisham Saleem was the top scorer with 33 runs, while skipper Arjun Choudhary and Abhishant Bakshi contributed 26 and 20 runs to the total respectively. Satish Kumar took 3 wickets for RCC, while Praful Dhar, Dilbagh Singh and Maqsood claimed 2 wickets each.
In reply, RCC chased the required target in 11.1 overs, scoring 128 runs by losing one wicket to win the match by 9 wickets. Puneet Kumar contributed quick-fire unbeaten 77 runs, studded with 7 fours and 5 sixes, while Parveen Singh scored valuable 34 runs. Hisham Saleem claimed the lone wicket to fall. Puneet was adjudged as man of the match.
In another match, NMCC defeated JCC by 6 wickets. Batting first, JCC scored 128 runs in the stipulated 20 overs by losing 8 wickets. Paras Sharma was the top scorer with 27 runs, while Rajeev and Surya contributed 21 and 17 runs to the total respectively. Abhinav took 3 wickets, while Vishu, Amit, Rohit and Sandy claimed one wicket each.
In reply, NMCC scored 131 runs in 13.3 overs by losing 4 wickets, thus won the match by 6 wickets. Tarun top scored with unbeaten 32 runs, while Vishu contributed 31 and Bobby scored 23 runs. For JCC, Vivek Singh took 2 wickets, while Rohit Sharma and Shubham Pundir claimed one wicket each. Abhinav was declared as man of the match.
