RCC Srinagar, Samar Club log wins in T20 Tournament

JAMMU, May 1: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar and Samar Cricket Club Jammu scripted emphatic wins over their rivals to advance in the ongoing 2nd Jammu Tawi Premier T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu Tawi Cricket Club, under the overall supervision its chairman Raja Vivek at MA Stadium, here.
Earlier, put into bat, RCC scored a decent total of 178 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Sanju Baba and Puneet Wattal played superb knocks of 35 and 33 runs respectively. While Sanju scored the runs in 32 balls by hitting 4 fours, Wattal took 25 balls, hitting 5 delectable boundaries in his knock. Skipper Kuldeep Kumar and Sahil Singh contributed 15 and 14 runs to the total respectively. For Sunshine Cricket Club, Vishal took 3 wickets, while Sonu and Sudesh bagged 2 wickets each.
In reply, Sunshine Club, managed to score 152 runs in the allotted 20 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by 26 runs. Shiva, Deepak and Sudesh contributed 34, 29 and 22 runs to the total respectively. Rahul Mussa was the pick of the bowlers for RCC, who scalped 4 important wickets, while Kuldeep Kuamr took 2 wickets. Sunny and Dheeraj claimed one wicket each. Kuldeep Kumar was adjudged man of the match for his all-round display.
In another match, Samar Club defeated Bhawani Cricket Club Katra by 24 runs.
Bating first, Samar Club scored 142 runs in 20 overs by losing 7 wickets. Chamkor and Chetan Singh Chib contributed 33 and 31 runs to the total respectively, while Bablu chipped in with 16 runs. Anil Khajuria and Deepak scalped 2 wickets each, while Anil Sharma claimed one wicket for Chawani Club.
In reply, Bhawani CC scored 118 runs in the allotted overs to lose the match by 24 runs. Anil Khajuria, Deepak and Himalaya scored 28, 24 and 24 runs to the total respectively. For Samar Club, Sourav Chopra and Udhay bagged 2 wickets, while Sidhant and Naushad claimed one wicket each. Chamkor Singh was adjudged man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain Malik, Sohail Yousuf, Sandeep manchanda, Rajinder Singh and Bunty Kumar.
