RCC Srinagar thrashes KCCC to enter finals

JAMMU, Aug 10: Rainawari Cricket Club (RCC) Srinagar dominated star-studded Kishen Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) in all the departments of the game to beat them by a big margin of 44 runs and seal berth in the finals of the Chevrolet Cup T20 Cricket Tournament, being sponsored by KC Motors Jammu and played at KC Public School ground, here.
Earlier, RCC skipper Puneet Wattal won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, RCC scored a fighting total of 127 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. Parveen Singh was the top scorer with 38 runs, while Ankit Bason contributed 28 runs to the total. Satish and Ahmer chipped in with 12 runs each, while Monu also contributed 11 runs to the total. Youngster Abdul Samad, who played some useful brisk knocks throughout the Tournament, contributed just 7 runs in this match alongwith his skipper. For KCCC, skipper Manik Gupta and Akash Choudhary bagged 2 wickets each, while speedster Sahil Sharma and left-arm spinner, Raman Dutta claimed one wicket each.
In reply, KCCC were bundled out for a paltry total of 83 runs to lose the match by 44 runs. Vimarsh Kaw and Jatin Wadhawan contributed 13 runs each, while Soumay Jain chipped in with 10 runs. For RCC, left-arm spinner, Dilbagh Singh was the pick of the bowlers, who claimed 4 important wickets by conceding just 11 runs in his 4 overs, while another left-arm spinner, Aman Sharma and nippy Monu took 2 wickets each. Sourav Chopra and Satish Kumar also claimed one wicket each. Dilbagh Singh was declared as man of the match for his brilliant batting display. He received a Westside Coupon worth Rs 500 for man of the match award.
