MENDHAR, May 10: Entire RDD staff at BDO office Mendhar today went on strike after a VLW was allegedly attacked and manhandled by a contractor in the office.
Reports said that on the issue of payment, the contractor allegedly abused and manhandled the BDO office staff member, Ashutosh Dutta. The contractor Arif Mohd Khan, hailing from Balakote had gone to the BDO office to get back his CDR worth Rs 20,000. He earlier used to collect Adda fee from vehicles as he had managed contract.
The staff told him that he owes Rs 45,000 to the department and being defaulter he can not take part in the bid. Upon this, he allegedly abused the staff and manhandled Dutta VLW. Then he escaped from the office.
Later, the entire staff of BDO office went on strike. Later, BDO also arrived there and an FIR No. 59/2016 was registered against contractor at Police Station, Mendhar. SDPO Mendhar Shahid assured action against the contractor.
