JAMMU, Jan 14: In a nail-biting final match that enthralled thousands of football enthusiasts, Real Lona Football Club emerged victorious against Skalzangling Football Club by 2-1 goals at Parade Mini Stadium Jammu in the grand finale of LAKSH Season 5.
The stadium witnessed an unprecedented surge of spectators, setting a record for attendance during the thrilling conclusion of the highly acclaimed football season. The journey to the finals was no less intense, with Skalzangling FC defeating Chewang FC and Real Lona FC overcoming Yangtse FC in the gripping semi-final clashes.
The event was graced by the presence of guests, including Buddhist religious scholar Lama Lobzang Jigmet from Leh as the Chief Guest and Islamic scholar Sheikh Mohammad Ali Mohammadi from Kargil as the Guest of Honour. The Manager of Mini Stadium Parade Ground Jammu also joined as a special guest for the occasion.
During the presentation ceremony of the grand finale, individual excellence was acknowledged. Rizwan Ali of Real Lona Club secured the title of Best Goalkeeper, Mussa of RLC earned the distinction of Best Defender, and Suhail Ali of Real Lona Club was honoured as the Best Midfielder. Imran Rajput of Real Lona Club was named the Best Striker, while Minhal Tak was declared the Emerging Player of LAKSH Season 5. Football Club Yangtse received the award for the Best Upcoming Team and Stanzin Wangdan’s exceptional goal secured the Goal of the Tournament. Abid Ali of Real Lona Club was honored as the Player of the Tournament for his stellar performance throughout the season.
President of LAKSH Society Ladakh, Sajid Jafari highlighted the silent prevalence of drugs in society, stating that LAKSH aims to be a practical solution. He stressed the societal nature of the issue and called on citizens, irrespective of background, to contribute to the fight against drugs.
