JAMMU, June 5: Team effort helped Reasi XI to script a convincing 29-run win over Udhampur XI to advance in the ongoing 3rd Prof Pran Nath Malhotra Memorial One-Day Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Jammu wing of Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here today.
Earlier, batting first, Reasi scored a modest total of 143 runs in 32.2 overs, losing all their wickets in the process. Sarfaraz (24), Raja Khan (17) and Darshan (18) were the main contributors. For Udhampur XI, Rajneesh was pick of the bowlers, who claimed 3 wickets by conceding 14 runs in his 5.2 overs, while Anshuman, Sandeep and Lokinder scalped 3 wickets each.
In reply, Udhampur XI bundled out for a paltry total of 114 runs in 32 overs, thus lost the match by 29 runs. Rajneesh was the top scorer with 41 runs, which included 5 boundaries, while Surinder contributed 17 runs to the total. Ram Singh, Sajad and Shivam captured 2 wickets each for Reasi XI, while Rajat claimed one.
The match was officiated by Mohan Lal and Harsh Nayyar as umpires, while Raghav Verma was the scorer.
Meanwhile, the final match of the ongoing Under-14 Boys Cricket Tournament would be held between JKCA Reds and JKCA Blues at the same venue tomorrow.
