JAMMU, Sept 14: Love and dedication for shooting made Kashmiri shooters to participate in All India Inter-School Shooting Championship in Dr Karni Singh Shooting Ranges in Delhi.
Despite facing lots of difficulties as most of the roads were broken, their houses are flooded with water, they managed to come to Delhi to participate in this shooting championship.
Coach of Jammu & Kashmir team Rajesh Virdi said “Thousands of people are still stranded in flood and the shooters could not prepare well because of floods.
Organizing Director of All India Inter-School Shooting and Sportz Craft Shooting, Jagmeet Singh Sethi appreciated the spirit of these brave hearted shooters.
Delhi has one of the highest number of participants and more than 20 medals have been won by Delhi shooters so far, including 7 gold in Air Rifle events.
National Rifle Association of India has received a record breaking number of more than 2800 entries for the 1st SportzCraft Air Weapons and XVIII All India Kumar Surendra Singh Inter-School Shooting Championship, 2014 which is going on at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Ranges, Delhi from September 10 to September 16, 2014.
Entries have flooded in from all over India with the maximum entries coming from Uttar Pradesh followed by Haryana and Punjab. NRAI has also received entries from states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Orissa, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam etc.
