Reema, Archana, Juhi bag top ranks in preliminary round

KATRA, Oct 18: Reema Devi of Kanyala, Jammu, Archana Balwal of Udhampur and Juhi Singh of Jammu, secured first, second and third positions respectively in the preliminary round of the ongoing All India Devotional Songs Competition, which entered second day, here today.
On second day of the competition, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, Minister of State for Finance, Co-operatives, Science and Technology, Higher Education, was the chief guest, while, Yogesh Sawhney, Former Minister, Robin Singh, Director Tourism, Manmohan Choudhary, former Mayor, Ajay Sharma Joint Director, Tourism, Additional SP, Mohan Lal, members of Navratra Festival Committee including Sardhari Lal Dubey and Shiv Kumar Sharma were also present.
In the preliminary round of competition, Reema Devi of Kanyala, Jammu was adjudged first, while, Archana Balwal of Udhampur and Juhi Singh of Jammu, secured second and third positions respectively, amongst 14 auditioned participants.
The Competition was adjudged by the panel of experts in music including Parduman Singh, former Programmer Executive, Radio Kashmir Jammu and Dr Usha Bhagati, former HOD, Music Department, MAM College, Jammu.
While speaking, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma, said that All India Devotional Song Competition provided platform to the singers and has also increased the potential of tourism.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Rakesh Wazir, Chairman of the competition committee.
