JAMMU, Oct 12: Sakshi Koul of MHAC School Nagbani claimed gold in Under-14 girls 100 meter sprint race, while Reetika of the same school bagged gold in Under-19 girls 100 meter sprint and Farah Kousar of KB Public School clinched gold in Under-17 girls 100 meter sprint in the Jammu District Inter-School Girls Athletic Meet, being organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports at Sports Stadium BSF Paloura, here.
Meanwhile, the silver and bronze medals in Under-14 girls went to Kajal of GHSS Karah and Kulwinder of APS Miran Sahib respectively, while the silver and bronze in Under-17 girls were bagged by Sapna Devi of GHSS Karah and Jasvinder Kour of HS Simbal Camp respectively. In Under-19 girls sprint, Vishali Sharma of APS Damana and Madhu of GHSS Mubarak Mandi claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 800 mts Under-17 girls, Ekta Sharma of GHSS Nadiwara, Zareena of GHS Sangrampura and Nisha of GHSS Gou Manhasa claimed first three positions respectively, while in 800 mts Under 19 girls, Shijali Devi of GHSS Nardiwara claimed gold, Sunita Sharma of GHSS Karah won silver and Sheetal of BSF Paloura claimed bronze.
Palvi Sharma of GHSS Karah won gold in 600 mts Under-14 girls, while Phalaknaz Manhas of KBPS and Shashi of BSF Paloura claimed silver and bronze medals respectively.
In 3000 meters Under-19 girls, Shivani Sharma of GHSS Nardiwara bagged gold, Kajal Devi of GHSS RS Pura won silver and Uzma Latif of GHSS Mubarak Mandi claimed bronze.
In Long Jump Under-14 girls, Riya of MHAC Nagbani, Kajal of GHSS Khara and Rajni Devi of HS Simbal Camp claimed first three places respectively, while in Long Jump Under-17 girls, Jaswinder Kour of GHSS Simbal Camp claimed gold, Faira Kousar of KBPS bagged silver and Meetu Devi of HSS Arnia bagged bronze. Long Jump Under-19 girls gold went to Jasmeena Chib of APS Damana, silver to Sumiya of KBPS and the bronze medal went to Shivani Sharma of GHSS Nardiwara.
Meanwhile, in shot-put Under-14 girls, Suman Kumari of GHSS Simbal Camp bagged gold, Priyanka Sharma of GHS Bansultan won silver and Sonia Choudhary of KBPS claimed bronze.
In shot-put Under-17 girls, Saparsh Bhat of MHAC Nagbani bagged gold, Noor Jahan of KBPS claimed silver and Akanksha of JK Public School clinched bronze, while in shot-put Under-19 girls, Mamta Mishra of APS Kaluchak, Priya Manhas of GHS Gou Manhasa and Nidhi of HSS Gharota claimed first three positions respectively.
Over 300 girls drawn from various Government and Private institutions of Jammu District participated in the event, which is being held under the overall supervision of Tirath Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu.
