Regional parties exploiting sentiments of people: Vakil

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Nov 5: Senior vice president, JKPCC, former Minister and member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today accused regional parties of exploiting the sentiments of people.
He stated that whenever elections are in sight these regional parties exploit innocent people on issues of accession with India, autonomy or self rule and during elections these forces become more active and come to forefront to attract the people by selling dreams that are far from reality. They leave no opportunity to befool people but once they come to power they forget all these issues and adopt dormancy till they rule, he added.
“He urged masses to understand regional politics of emotional exploitation which can never be beneficial to them. He said that neither self rule proposal of the People’s Democratic Party nor autonomy of National Conference can resolve Kashmir issue. They have to understand that Kashmir issue can only be resolved when all the parties including Hurriyat Conference leaders will sit together; taking into consideration the aspirations of all the three regions, then only a genuine solution will come out by consensus.
He hoped that people of this State cannot be exploited on these elections mantras anymore as they understand nefarious designs of regional parties which leave them at the mercy of God after grabbing power. Vakil was addressing public meetings in Rohama and Nowpora Rafiabad today.
While taking on BJP, Vakil said BJP’s politics is polluted with hatred and discrimination. BJP’s origin lies in exploitation of religious sentiments and prevails upon innocent and poor masses through divisive and exploitive measures but Congress is determined to give befitting reply to such forces.
Among others present were senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Shah, Advocate Javed Ahmad Masoodi, Haji Mohammad Afzal Khan, Advocate Husamudin Gilani, Bashir Ahmad Shiekh, Ghulam Mohammad Shiekh, Tariq Ahmad Mir, Riyaz Ahmad, Mohammad Samandar, Dr Brij Nath Nehru, etc.
