JAMMU, May 9: Three day long Regional Skating Championship organized by Association of Roller Skating Uttarakhand commenced today at GRD Academy Niranjanpur Patel Nagar.
In the championship, 57 skaters from Dehradun, Mussoorie, Muradabad, Udhamsingh Nagar, Rishikesh and Haridwar are taking part.
The event has been organized in quad and inline categories (girls /boys) in the age group Under 14, 17 and 19 years for rink races and road races.
Arvind Gupta and Pankaj Bhardwaj, members of jury and Gulab Chaudhary is championship referee.
In Under-19 Quad (girls) 300 meters, Anushka emerged winner, whereas in Under-17, Swati Singh secured first position, in Under-14, Nikhita Panwar and Varsha Panwar claimed first and second positions. In 1000 meters, Rashi and Swati claimed first and second positions respectively.
In Under-19 Inline (girls) 300 meters, Akshita, Minakshi and Tanisha claimed first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Under-17, Priyanka Negi, Rishu and Jhilmil bagged first, second and third positions respectively. In Under-14 Cherry and Nikita bagged first and second positions respectively.
In Under-19 Quad (boys) 300 meters, Niraj, Shubham and Kushagr bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Under-17, Devendra, Sajal and Tushar secured first, second and third positions respectively. In Under-14, Abhishek, Puspaj and Harsh Kumar clinched first, second and third positions respectively.
In Under-19 Inline (boys) 300 meters, Dipanshu, Priyanshu and Akshat bagged first, second and third positions respectively, whereas in Under-17, Amit, Mayank and Saksham secured first, second and third positions respectively. In Under-14, Nikhil, Ayush and Tejas bagged first, second and third positions respectively.
Sunil, Maya Bisht and Dr Aman of OLF KV, Dr Rahul Gaur and Rashmi of KV, Mussoorie, International Player Yati Gupta, National coaches Nazam Khan and Deepun, Assistant Coach Akshat Johari and Shebaz supported the event.
