JAMMU, Aug 6: The first-ever Squash Tournament for under-16 girls was held at KC Sports Club today, in which 8 girls took part.
Though new to the game, they played it with unusual eagerness and interest.
After the initial elimination rounds, Rehana Batool, Tabasum Hamid Khan, Bavleen Kour and Samiksha Parihar made it to the semi-finals.
The first semi-final between Rehana and Tabasum went in favour of Rehana who ousted her opponent by 10-7 and 10-6.
In the second semi-final, Samiksha won the match with a score of 10-3 and 10-8.
In the final fixture between Rehana and Samiksha, former clinched the championship with a slim margin of 10-8 and 10-9.
