JAMMU, Nov 17: 3rd Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket T-20 Cup 2014 concluded today in Gulshan Ground, Jammu, with Rehari XI lifting the cup by defeating JKP Cricket Club by 20 runs in a thrilling contest.
Shakeel Ahmed Beig, DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range was the chief guest on the valedictory function. A total of 16 teams participated in the T-20 Cup and final match was played between JKP and Rehari clubs.
Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Cup is an annual feature of the J&K Police which is being organized on the occasion of two major festivals of Eid and Diwali.
Rehari Club won the match by 130 runs in 16.3 overs. Raman Dutta of Rehari club was declared Man of the Match, Vishabjeet Singh of JKP was declared man of the series and Amitpal Singh best Batsman of KC Sports and Shamsher Singh best bowler of JKP team.
Trophies were distributed amongst the winner by the chief guest. Shailendra Kumar, IPS AIG (CIV) PHQ J&K, Parshotam Sharma, Deputy Director Prosecution RPHQ Jammu, Rajesh Gill CPO PTI Kathua, Organizing Secretary, Anil Mangotra CPO Human Rights, Anand Tripathi M/S Aircel, participated in the closing ceremony of the match.
The tournament was organized by the J&K Police with the help of co-sponsors Simula, Aircel, Atman College and Tanishta.
While speaking on the occasion, DIG Jammu said that Eid-Diwali Milan T-20 Cup has become the annual feature and these sports activities are organized to promote talent among youth and to keep them physically and mentally fit and basic objective of these activities is to promote communal harmony, brotherhood and to celebrate both the festivals together.
