DODA, July 16: Rehmat Cricket Club (RCC) Doda lifted the title trophy of the All India 15th Gufran Memorial T20 Cricket Championship 2019, thrashing Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Ghat by 8 wickets in the summit clash at Sports Stadium, here today.
The tournament was organized by Young Star Cricket Club Doda with the support of District Administration and District Police Doda.
In the finals, batting first after winning the toss, FCC Ghat collapsed at 75 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 13 overs as none of their batsmen showed much resistance against the disciplined bowling of RCC Doda. Sunil Kumar and Raman Dhiman scored 19 runs each, while Himanshu contributed 15 runs to the total.
For RCC Doda, Sandeep scalped 3 wickets while Rajat Sharma, Ankit Choudhary and Satnam Singh shared 2 wickets each.
In reply, RCC Doda chased the target easily in just 6.1 overs for the loss of 2 wickets, thus won the match by 8 wickets.
Puneet Kumar played a match winning knock of 29 runs while Satnam Singh added 27 runs to the total. For FCC Ghat team, Pradeep Nathi and Sunil Kumar picked 1 wicket each.
Sandeep was declared as the man of the match for his superb bowling performance while Nitin Sharma of Rehmat Cricket Club Doda was declared as the man of the series, who was given cash prize of Rs 5,000.
The match was officiated by Harish Raza, Yousuf Raza as umpires while Sandeep Koushik maintained the scorebook.
In the closing ceremony, Deputy Commissioner Doda Dr Sagar Doifode was the chief guest while while the special guests included Chief Agriculture Officer Doda Shahid Iqbal, Head SR Cemcom Company Pawan Singh, Councillors Asif Jahan Gattu, Shabir Ahmed Ganai, Asif Iqbal Bazdar, Prop Mumtaz Building Material Zia ul Haq, Prof Z A Hashmi, DEPO Ayaz Mughal, HOD DIET Tanveer Ahmed Wani, Dr Basharat Kraipak, Prop Natnoo Furnishing Store Fareed Natnoo, Prop Zum Zum Sweets Sahil Choudhary, Dr Tariq Masood, District Sports Officer Doda Ashok Kotwal and Vice President JK Peoples Parliament Raza Ganai.
Later on, chief guest in the presence of other dignitaries distributed winner’s trophy to RCC Doda with a cash prize of Rs One lakh and runners-up trophy to FCC Ghat with cash prize of Rs 50,000 which was sponsored by J&K Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, DC Doda lauded the efforts of YSCC Doda for organizing this mega event in which 64 teams took part.
