This is to draw the attention of the JMC authorities towards the bad condition of Goswami Cricket Academy Ramakrishna Mission link road.
This link road, though of great importance and connectivity, is riddled with potholes of varied size which often cause great inconvenience to commuters and motorists. During rainy season, these potholes turn quite dangerous.
At times scooterists slip into these potholes causing them injuries, and damage to two wheelers.
Though the matter has been raised a number of times but the authorities have not taken cognizance of the same so far.
It is requested that the road be widened and blacktopped as per standard road making norms, as the shoddly work executed on roads do not have a longer life.
Hope the authorities would wake up to this reality sooner than later.

Unjustified Toll Tax on Jammu-Lakhanpur highway
I would like to draw your attention towards the problem on the widening of NH from Lakhanpur to Jammu. This work has been going on for the last almost two years. Beside the widening of the highway to increase the number of lanes , the old flyovers are being demolished and new ones are being constructed. In addition to this, it may be said here that the earlier Highway was never seen to be under repairs to fill up the pot holes created due to seasonal rains. This has created thousands of potholes and tens of diversions all along the road thereby making it very uneasy, uncomfortable to drive on this road. Besides, one witnesses frequent traffic jams all along the road which consume lot of time of passengers.
Under such conditions, it is not justifiable to continue charging Toll Tax while the Highway is under overall upgradation. As such the authorities must withhold levying the Toll Tax at the two plazas – Lakhanpur and Sarore.

Increase Mid-Day Meal cooks’ salary
What is morally unsound can’t be legally justifiable. It isn’t less surprising that since inception of Mid Day Meal Scheme decades ago, the workers engaged for the purpose have been paid Rs 1000 PM as remuneration; which in other words comes 33-34 rupees per day. It is beyond comprehension how one can maintain livelihood with such a meagre amount. Moreover, no provision exists to help such persons in the event of death or any fatal disease. It is highly disheartening that even after such a long period their pay still remains unenhanced.
They have to work hard with unfailing punctuality and regularity as schools function. It goes without saying that a close mouth catches no fly and where the voice is low and the authorities are hard of hearing, such cases remain uncared. To keep them above pecuniary conditions, needful measures deserve to be taken at higher level so that economically humbled section of the employees isn’t made further humbler.

Ramnagar Municipal office needs facelift
The office complex which should have been an example of hygiene and cleanliness is itself reeking stench and presenting a picture of official apathy towards civic issues.
This is the story of Ramnagar Municipal Committee office, supposed to maintain cleanliness in the whole town.
While entering the office complex, a visitor comes across a very depressing scenario. The community hall, bathrooms, and other rooms attached with it are quite filthy. It seems no one bothers about their regular cleanliness. The floors of almost all rooms including bathrooms are littered with plastic bottles, polythene bags, wrappers, and other items.
The bathrooms are stinking, while water taps are broken or running continuously causing great inconvenience to users. The stench is so offensive that one has to cover his face with a handkerchief.
The authorities are therefore requested to ensure cleanliness in the whole office complex .

Water crisis in Bhour Camp
There is scarcity of drinking water for the last one year in and around Bhour Camp. Tube well already installed in 1979 became defunct since 2015 and a new Tube well installed in 2018 for the purpose is not lifting the water properly due to technical fault and small size of bored pipes. It became defunct again and the people of locality are facing hardship in getting the pure drinking water notwithstanding the temporary arrangements that have been made from another tubewell. Corporator Ward No 73 and all concerned in the department were apprised about the problem but no kind of action has been taken in this regard for the resolution. It is requested to the concerned department and Lt Governor to pass the directions to the concerned to resolve the issue of drinking water crises immediately before the condition worsens in summer.
