Lt Governor unfurls National Flag at Jammu, DDCs in other distts

JAMMU, Jan 27: Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu hoisted the National Flag at the Union Territory level function on the occasion of the 71st Republic Day at the Maulana Azad Stadium.
The Lt Governor inspected the parade and took the salute at an impressive march past which was commanded by Col. RK Sharma, SM of 5th Battalion J&K Light Infantry (JAK LI).
The smart contingents participating in the Parade were from the Army, BSF, CRPF,SSB, women contingent of the JKAP, JKAP/IRP, J&K Police, Disaster Response Force, 2nd Battalion Jammu, J&K Fire and Emergency Services, J&K Forest Protection Force, Excise Department, ex-Servicemen, NCC Boys and Girls, Bharat Scouts and Guides (Girls & Boys) , Boys and Girls from various schools and Bands of Army, BSF, J&K Police, Jammu and Kashmir Armed Police and of several Boys and Girls Schools.
Other attractions of the programme included composite ensemble of youth displaying various sports activities on Khelo India-Swasth India by J&K Sports Council; a composite Musical Performance on Ek Bharat- Shreshth Bharat by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Motorcycle Acrobatics display by J&K Police, witnessed by jam-packed audience in the stadium.
A multihued cultural spectacle based on national integration and the glorious composite heritage of J&K was presented by several hundred students from various local schools on this occasion.
Besides the First Lady Smita Murmu, the programme was witnessed by Chief Justice Jammu and Kashmir High Court, Justice Gita Mittal; Kewal Kumar Sharma and Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar- Advisors to the Lt Governor; Judges of the J&K High Court; Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation; Members of Parliament; BVR Subrahmanyam, Chief Secretary; Dilbagh Singh, DGP; former Legislators; senior Civil, Police and Army officers, political and social activists, prominent citizens, media persons and the citizenry were present on the occasion.
Earlier, the Lieutenant Governor visited the Balidan Stambh and paid homage to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the honour of the country. He laid wreath at the memorial at Balidan Stambh.
POONCH: The Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and high enthusiasm. Principal District and Session Judge was the chief guest on the occasion.
DDC Poonch Rahul Yadav, SSP Ramesh Angral, ADDC Mohammad Rashid Chowdhary, ASP Adil Hamid, ADC Sheraz ul Haq, officers from Army besides district officers, students of different schools, large gathering were present on the occasion.
DDC unfurled the National Flag at Sports Stadium and took salute of the march past consisting of contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKAP, Home Guards, Police Commando, NCC Cadets and students of around 20 educational institutions.
DDC informed the gathering about various developmental works which including the completed bunkers, steps to increase the productivity of pecan nut and other cash crops, new courses introduced in District Hospital Poonch, Jal Jeevan Mission and other individual benefit schemes.
RAJOURI: The main function was held at District Police Line where Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Mohammad Nazir Sheikh unfurled the National Flag and took the salute at the march past presented by the contingents of JK Police, JKAP, CRPF, Ladies Police, Forest Protection Force, NCC cadets and students from different schools.
Senior officers of civil administration, Police and Paramilitary Forces besides large gathering of people attended the function.
Deputy Commissioner highlighted various developmental works undertaken in the district. He said district administration is making all-out efforts to provide better civic facilities to the people, besides ensuring efficient public delivery system across the valley. He said various initiatives have been taken to make administration accountable, transparent and time-bound so that people do not face any difficulty.
KATHUA: The main function was held at Sports Stadium where Deputy Commissioner, O P Bhagat unfurled the National Flag and took salute at march past comprising of 46 contingents from Police, CRPF, Police Training School, NCC and students from various Government/private schools besides pipers.
The DC said that India is the biggest democracy of the world and brotherhood, communal harmony and tolerance are its key attributes. He said India is emerging power having fast growing economy which is now making its mark in space and other fields of science.
SSP Shridhar Patil, ADC Atul Gupta, ASP Ramnish Gupta, ACD Sukhpal Singh, ACR Joginder Paul, DSWO Abdul Rahim, District Officers, prominent citizens, and large number of people and students were present on the occasion.
RAMBAN: Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour and traditional zeal at District Police Line. The District Development Commissioner Nazim Zai Khan unfurled the National Flag.
SSP Anita Sharma, SSP Traffic J.S Johar, ADDC Nawab Din, ADC Ashok Kumar, CPO Kasturi Lal, senior officers of armed forces and a large number of people attended the function.
DDC took the salute from 20 contingents including CISF, JKP, IRP, CRPF, Civil Defence, FPF, Army Band, NCC and the local school students.
DDC prominently appreciated the public of Ramban for maintaining peace, communal harmony and brotherhood in the district in every situation and assured their full cooperation for the same.
REASI: Enthusiastic celebrations of 71st Republic Day were held at Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium where Deputy Commissioner Indu Kanwal Chib hoisted the Tricolour.
Thirty squads, including those of J&K Police, J&K Home Guards, CRPF, Indian Reserve Police, NCC cadets and local schools paraded before the Deputy Commissioner.
In her address, the DC called upon all to set personal goals toward nation building. She stressed on the need to fulfil fundamental duties, punctuality and paying taxes.
UDHAMPUR: The Republic day was celebrated in the premises of Government PG College, Boys wherein Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Dr. Piyush Singla was the chief guest who hoisted the National Flag and took salute at an impressive march past of 35 contingents drawn from CRPF, SKPA, Volunteers Home Guards, District Police, NCC, Flag troops, Civil Scots from different educational Institutions besides Police Band, took part in this national function.
While addressing the gathering, DDC said that Government is making earnest efforts to provide basic facilities such as electricity, water, health, employment, roads etc to all the people of the UT. He highlighted the major projects and achievements of district Udhampur.
Senior officers from Police, Army, BSF, CRPF, AIR Force and civil Administration besides councillors, and prominent citizens of the district were present on the occasion.
DODA: The Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and national spirit at Sports Stadium wherein the Deputy Commissioner Dr Sagar D Doifode unfurled the Tricolour and took salute of the march past of contingents from JKP, CRPF,SSB, JKAP, JKP, FPF,NCC Jr, Home Guard and scores of students from GDC Doda besides various schools of the district.
Speaking at the occasion, the DC appealed to the people of Doda to work with togetherness for promoting national integration, communal harmony and peace in the district.
KISHTWAR: The day was celebrated at Chowgan Ground where Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana unfurled the National Flag and took salute of the march past contingents from JKP, CRPF, CISF JKAP, FPF, NCC and scores of students from various schools of the district.
Speaking at the occasion, the DC highlighted the importance of Republic Day and stressed for promoting national integration, communal harmony and peace.
SAMBA: The day was celebrated amidst enthusiasm and colourful events at Sports Stadium wherein Deputy Commissioner Rohit Khajuria inspected the parade contingents and took salute from the march past squads.
Speaking on the occasion, DC said India has made large strides in science, technology, space agencies, economics, industries & factories and the rate of growth is exponential. On the development in Samba, DC said that various development works have been completed in the district.
