SAMBA, Jan 9: Alleging failure of Jal Shakti Department (JSD) in providing adequate water supply to the people, the residents of Ward Number 13 Panchayat Halqa Kehli Mandi Samba held a protest today.
The protestors raised slogans against the PHE Department and district administration Samba and also locked Water Supply Pump Station of the Department.
They alleged that they are suffering due to irregular supply of drinking water. Protest was led by State spokesperson, Youth Congress, Sandeep Sharma and Sudesh Kumari Corporator Ward No.13, They told reporters that several times the matter was brought into the notice of the concerned authorities, but nothing has been done till today.
“We staged protests many times to highlight our grievance but no action was taken in this regard till date”, the residents alleged. The protestors demanded regular supply of drinking water in their area.
