JAMMU, July 13: The residents of Jammu West held protest with empty buckets  resulting in traffic disruption for one hour. The protest was lodged under the banner of Jammu West Assembly Movement led by its president Sunil Dimple.
Addressing the protesters, Sunil Dimple alleged that the BJP-PDP Government has deceived the people of Jammu and backstabbed them by putting the  Chenab Water supply project in the cold storage, with the excuse of hurdles put by ADB formalities.
Dimple alleged that the water is supplied once in a week in the localities of the Jammu West Assembly constituency and the people were facing acute scarcity of the drinking water.
He urged the coalition Government that the water should be provided “totally free of cost” to the people of the State.
Sunil Dimple appealed the people not to deposit the water tariff this year.
