DODA, June 15: The residents of village Tanta in Sub Division Thathri held protest against district administration.
The protestors assembled at Tanta village and raised slogans against the district administration.
They alleged that their village is without electricity since Independence and they are living in dark age in the time of Digital World.
“We are facing immense hardships as our area has been ignored by all the previous regimes”, the protestors said, adding that despite repeated pleas to the higher authorities, no step has been taken to electrify their village Tanta.
In the time of Digital World, the people in village Tanta use wood sticks and candles to do household work, they added.
The protestors have appealed to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir to look into the matter and issue necessary directions to the PDD authorities for ensuring electricity supply in village Tanta.
Later, the protestors dispersed with a warning to intensify their protest if their demand is not redressed in the shortest possible time.
