DODA, Nov 3: Residents of Dhadar Gandoh staged protest against the shortage of drinking water and blocked Gandoh-Jaie road for two hours.
They alleged negligence of the authorities and raised slogans against PHE Department for ignoring their repeated requests for ensuring proper water supply.
The protestors alleged that officers of the department are apathetic towards their woe.
“We are being forced to survive under severe water crisis since long”, they added.
When contacted Xen PHE Department Gandoh MK Vikram said, “I am aware of the issue and a team headed by AEE has been sent there to immediately see the issue raised by the villagers”.
Mohammad Shafi AEE PHE Department assured that potable water supply to village will be restored with in a month and requested people to use water judiciously in dry spell.
After assurance of AEE and SHO Gandoh Police Station Arun Sharma, the protestors dispersed and the road was opened.
