Residents protest over shortage of staff

KATHUA, May 10: The residents of village challah in Tehsil Bani held protest against the Education Department over shortage of teaching staff in Government High School Mandrera, Zone Bani.
The residents led by Sarpanch Kiran Kumar accompanied by Panchayat members Bodh Raj, Neelam Kumari, Chino Ram and Joginder Pal assembled in the village and raised slogan in support of their demand.
They were demanding fulfillment of vacant post of teachers in the school.
The Sarapnch Kiran Kumar told that Government High School Mandrera has more than 250 students and there are only eight teachers and NYC teacher.
Due to shortage of teaching staff, the students are suffering a lot, he added.
Later, the protestors submitted a memorandum to SDM Bani and concerned higher authorities to fulfill the vacant post, so that students may not suffer.
