POONCH, June 15: Deputy Commissioner Poonch, Inder Jeet today reviewed the preparedness for the launch of vaccination drive for 18-44 age group here at a meeting.
He also directed health authorities to achieve 100% vaccination of 45+ category in one week.
The DC asked the enforcement agencies to take stringent action against those inhibiting vaccination drive and stop the benefits of welfare schemes to those refusing vaccination.
He said the Block ASHA Coordinators, ICDS Supervisors and Sectoral Medical Officers shall be held accountability for any delay in achieving the vaccination targets.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Ghulam Ahmed, Chief Medical Officer; Dr Mohd Tanwir PO, ICDS Poonch; Zamood Ahmed, Nodal officer Covid 19; Manjeet Singh, District Information Officer; Poonch, Dr. Rahul Medical Nodal Officer Covid 19; Sectoral Medical officers, Block ASHA Coordinators, ICDS Supervisors besides other concerned officers.
The DC further said that the mainstay for maximizing the vaccination percentage is the collective efforts of ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, Booth Level officers (BLOs) and secretary Panchayat/ VLW as they have direct contact with each household.
Expressing concern over non-reporting of the incident where an Anganwadi worker got her leg fractured while on vaccination duty, the DC directed that all the expenditure on her treatment would be borne by District Administration. He directed to report all such incidents to the District Administration in future.
Addressing a complaint from an ICDS Supervisor regarding availability of insufficient Covid1-9 protective gears, the DC directed the CMO to either provide sufficient number of such protective gears or funds would be released to concerned CDPOs and BMO for purchase of the same.
Taking strict cognizance of the reports that certain persons are refusing vaccination and also inhibiting the process by spreading rumours, the DC directed to identify such elements and take strict action against them. He also directed to stop the benefits of all the welfare schemes of the Government to such persons.
