Restore Rajinder park to its past glory

This is to draw attention of the JMC authorities towards Rajinder Park, Canal Road which once used to be a favourite destination for people and is now lying in a pathetic state.
The park which was frequented by people-children, senior citizens and other groups in hordes for beating heat in sweltering summer and for recreational purposes wears a deserted look. Under CSR initiative it was well maintained by J&K authorities but one does not know whether it is still under their watch. As things stand today, it seems it is no longer under JK Bank watch.
The park at present is facing problems on several counts. It seems no gardener is there to maintain it on regular basis. The plants that once provided cool shade and fresh air are wilting. The fountains in the middle of park that refreshed body and soul are not working. Benches which dotted the park are either broken or have been uprooted. Garbage dumps are seen here and there.
The ambience which once attracted people is now quite offensive.
It is very painful to say that this park in the heart of the city which once was main attraction for people is losing its charm courtesy JMC authorities.
It is right time that this park be resorted to its pristine beauty before it may be turned into a garbage dumping spot.

High Parking Charges
I wish to highlight to the concerned authorities about extraordinarily high parking charges at Purani Mandi Parking Zone. I parked my car for 36 minutes and had to pay the charges of Rs 70/- which is on a very higher side.When enquired, the staff revealed that they charge for 4 hours irrespective of the time period of parking period.It is totally unwarranted and unjustified as normally the charges for half an hour comes to be around for Rs 30/- which is fair and genuine.
I request to the concerned authorities to kindly look into the issue and take prompt cognizance. It is suggested that the agency monitoring such parking zones must display a rate list of parking highlighting time slot vis a vis parking charges at the parking entrance itself.

Improve parking infrastructure in Old Jammu
Winter capital Jammu stands included under smart cities of India as such is proud moment for Jammuites. The infrastructure warranted under smart cities is being developed on war footings by J&K Govt thereby giving attractive look to new and old Jammu city.
Unfortunately the existing parking lots of Kacchi Chawni, Shalamar, opposite Karan Bhawan, SMGS Hospital, Govt Medical College Jammu and few others in old city are having inadequate parking space to cater the increasing demand as on date.
The existing parking slots at SMGSH Shalamar and Medical College Bakshi Nagar are inadequate to cater the requirement of students and faculty of medical college. In addition adequate parking space is required for visiting patients and attendants to meet their emergencies in these hospitals.
Both JDA and Municipal Corporation, to whom it may concern are required to modernize and improve these parking from existing single storey to multi-storey with all modernized facilities including fire extinguishers, first aid besides small crane facility for breakdown vehicles. Moreover parking at Parade for business community, Women College Parade, Brahman Sabha Parade can be developed at alternate suitable site to decongest historic Parade, that has been reduced merely to single lane road and can alternatively be developed as impressive city centre for pedestrians on the pattern of Lal Chowk Srinagar by providing high mask lights, sitting benches, light refreshment stalls with no entry for four /three wheelers.
Further, the developed parking must be highlighted with electronic display boards at entrance depicting available parking infrastructure which refreshes as and when a vehicle enters or leaves the parking entry/ exit. Such as;
Parking capacity =-nos
Occupied = -nos
Available = -no
So that parking customer need not to wait long and get parking at sweet will of parking contractor, instead can move on to next available parking.
If developed, these highlighted parkings, are likely to give relief to business community/ customers of area. Moreover requirement is to evaluate and develop Parade as a city centre Jammu to give an attractive look and strolling space for Jammuites if covered under Smart City Project Jammu.

Hazuribagh road in deplorable condition
I would like to bring the deplorable state of Hazuri Bagh / Colonel Colony road to the attention of the authorities. The road has many manholes whose level is more than one feet below the road level posing big threat to the commuters. Many times,accidents have occurred on the said road due to potholes. These are jeopardizing the life of two wheelers as well as four wheelers.
Even the absence of proper street lights near Royal Apartments Society have become nuisance for the residents. Even ladies scare to go out after 6PM. Some miscreants have been seen moving in the area taking advantage of the dark. The Residents requested the authorities in this regard but no action has been taken till date being Smart city.

Open Sub-divisional Agri office at Chenani
I would like to request Administrative Secretary Agriculture Department to consider the long pending grievances of farmers of Sub-Division Chenani at an earliest. Pertinent to mention that the farmers of Tehsil Chenani and Latti are demanding opening of Sub- Divisional Agriculture office at Chenani to resolve their Agriculture demands and problems but nothing has been done in this regard for the last more than thirty years and farmers from far flung hilly areas have to go to Udhampur again and again for their minor and major issues concerning Agriculture. Second most important demand of this hilly area is for the establishment of Potato Seed Farms at Kair-Gala, Naina Devi, Jug Dhar and Ladha Dhar so that the ever increasing demand of potato seeds of the farmers is fulfilled at local level. One Potato farm functioning at Natha Top cannot provide huge quantity of potato seeds at the time of need and the farmers suffer badly. Moreover, most of the area of Chenani is rain fed, so in order to provide better irrigation facilities to the farmers it is requested that small ponds may be sanctioned for every desiring Agriculture Household. Lastly, it is also requested that the Fertilizer dealers of Udhampur may be supplied sufficient quantity of fertilizers throughout the year as now the farmers need fertilizers regularly for crop rotation and multiple crop sowing throughout the year. Director Agriculture Jammu is also requested to consider all the facilities for the farmers of Chenani and also to open Sub-Divisional Agriculture Office at Chenani for the welfare of farmers at on early date.

Jhajjar Kotli tourist huts in shambles
This is to draw the attention of the concerned authorities towards the deplorable state of Government huts at Jhajjar Kotli. The tourist huts at Jhajjar Kotli were constructed with the aim of promoting tourism sector in Jammu region but it seems that the said purpose has not been served.
Jhajjar Kotli is the one place which was frequented by picnickers, tourists for recreational purposes. Though still popular, it is losing its pristine charm and beauty thanks to lackadaisical approach of the tourism authorities. One instance of this apathetic approach is negligence of tourists huts which were built at a huge cost. Since these are not used they are crumbling with each passing day. Being made of wood it is a matter of time before they would cease to exist and it would be loss not only to exchequer but a huge setback to tourism sector as well.
It is therefore requested that these be taken care of and allotted to tourists on regular basis. Besides, the Jhajjar Kotli picnic spot be once again developed so the picnickers flock there in hordes.
