JAMMU, Mar 8: A deputation of Non-Gazetted Police Pensioners Welfare Forum met Vijay Kumar, Advisor to the Governor and submitted him a memorandum regarding pay anomalies and other issues.
The deputation was lead by Ajit Singh, Forum Chairman.
The Forum members informed the Advisor that retired police pensioners are facing discrimination in pay anomaly which must be removed immediately.
They quoted a government order of the year 2014 regarding anomaly which gives effect prospectively (from the date of order).
However, the Forum demanded that the effect should be given from the year 1996 when the fifth pay commission was implemented throughout the State but only the police department was left out.
The deputation members also quoted some pay anomaly committees which gave their opinion from time to time in this regard.
They said that Finance Department had sought clarification from the Director General of Police (DGP) regarding the pay anomalies to retiree ASIs and Head Constables and the DGP office in turn had replied that an amount of Rs 5,93,25000 should be released to ASIs and Head Constables.
The Advisor assured that he will discuss the matter at an early date to solve the issue.
