JAMMU, Apr 25: A deputation of Retired Prison Personnel put forth their grievances before K. Rajendra Kumar, Director General of Prisons.
Krishan Singh, head of the delegation highlighted the issues relating to the retired personnel which mainly included basic amenities. They urged for modification and reframing of Welfare Fund Rules on Police pattern, for in-service and retired Prison Officers/Officials.
Provision of medicare facilities for the retired Prison Personnel and their families, reservation in Departmental Recruitment, higher studies for the dependents of Retired Prison Officers/Officials, creation of guest house facilities in capital cities of Jammu/Srinagar to accommodate in-service/retired personnel and one room facility be allotted for retired personnel where they can meet time to time were the issues discussed during the meeting.
K. Rajendra Kumar assured the delegation that genuine demands will be addressed and all efforts will be made for betterment of the retired as well as in-service personnel. Dr. Mohammad Sultan Lone, DIG Prisons and Javid Masood Fazili, Staff Officer to DG Prisons were also present.
