JAMMU, Nov 10: Demanding release of SSA salary, which is pending for last three to six months in the State, All J&K ReT Teachers Forum today held protest demonstrations at all the district headquarters.
Main protest was held at Jammu in front of the office of the State Project Director (SPD), SSA, where a large number of ReT teachers assembled under the leadership of State president Vinod Sharma and others.
The protesting ReTs raised slogans in support of their demands and urged the Government to release and streamline the SSA salaries. Later, a memorandum of demands was also submitted to the Government through the SPD.
Vinod Sharma, while addressing the protesters, criticized the Government for its failure in providing salaries to SSA teachers and forcing them to come on roads. He claimed that families of these teachers were on verge of starvation and they were unable to provide basic necessities to them.
Seeking intervention of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister in this regard, the Forum president threatened to hold State vide protest if the SSA salaries are not streamlined at the earliest and harassment of ReTs on the name of screening test and transfer policy is not stopped .
At Poonch ReT Teachers Forum members, led by State general secretary Najam Jafri, assembled at Parade Park and then marched towards DC Office via CEO Office. A memorandum of demands was submitted to Government through DC.
At Udhampur, a large number of ReT teachers, led by district president Lekh Raj Parihar, gathered at CEO Office. Holding placards and shouting slogans, they were demanding immediate release of SSA salary and other arrears of SSA teachers. They also submitted a memorandum of demands to the Government through DC.
At Doda, district president Sajad Malik, vice president Anita Kiran and general secretary Wahid Wani led the protest march from CEO office to DC office.
Similarly, the protest demonstrations at Ramban was led by district president Gulzabir Daing and provincial senior vice president Shahnwaz Hussain while State chief spokesperson Naresh Sharma and district president Manzoor Khan led the protest at Rajouri. At Kathua, Rakesh Singh , Varinder Singh , Pawan Sharma, Mahesh Kumar and senior leader Pankaj Verma led the protest march from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Park to DC office while at Reasi, district president Balwan Singh and vice president Ashish Gandotra were leading the march. At Kishtwar and Samba, protests were held under the leadership of Tahir Masood and Dinesh Singh, respectively.
