VIJAYPUR, Dec 11: All J&K ReT Teachers Forum has announced not to appear in the proposed screening test and appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene into the matter for withdrawal of the controversial Government order on screening test of those ReTs who have obtained degrees from Distance Mode.
Talking to media persons, here today, Raj Kumar Dubey, chairman of the Forum, alleged that the Government was demoralizing the ReT teachers who have been rendering services to the Department for the last 15 years.
“On the one hand, Government has given recognition to universities and their distance mode while on the other hand, a question mark is being raised on the degrees obtained from these institutions,” he said and added that subjecting a person to screening test for promotion was okay but the same can not be justified for continuation of service at the same post.
“Can the incumbent Commissioner Secretary Education qualify IAS exams if he is asked to do the same today,” he asked and alleged that the entire drama on the screening test was being staged by the Government to divert attention from real issues, like unprecedented delay in release of SSA salary, Mid Day Meal grants, etc.
Announcing that the ReT teachers would not appear in the proposed screening tests, the Forum leader said that ultimate sufferer of such draconian orders of the Government would be students as the teaching are left with no option other than to agitational path.
The Forum appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti personally intervene into the matter and ensure that the ReTs are not harassed on the name of screening test.
Other leaders of the ReT Forum. who were present on the occasion, included Dhruv Singh, Ranjit Singh, Rakesh Singh Bali, Parveen Kumar, Naresh Kumar and Neeraj Sharma.
