JAMMU, Apr 30: Designated Special Judge for EAO/ULA Cases (Principal Sessions Judge Jammu), Kartar Singh today awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 to Abdul Kabir, son of Ghulam Mohd Lone and five years rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 10,000 to his wife Rafiqa Begum, who were agents of LeT and providing help to the militants in carrying weapon from one place to another and arrested on March 2, 2008.
After hearing Public Prosecutor Shabir Choudhary for the State whereas Advocate B L Chatha for the accused persons, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case and the fact that the accused have no previous record of any crime, the accused Abdul Kabir is sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of seven years whereas Rafiqa Begum is sentenced to undergo rigorous imprisonment for a period of five years”.
