JAMMU, Dec 6: Mahaparinirwan Diwas of Dr Br Ambedkar was observed today by various organizations including educational, social and political across Jammu Region.
Bahujan Samaj Party J&K organized a function to pay floral tribute to Baba Saheb who has sacrificed his life for upliftment of the poor masses Dr Avtar Singh Krim Puri (former MP and coordinator J&K) was the chief guest on this occasion. Addressing the gathering, he lauded the contribution of Baba Sahib for mankind. S R Majotra (president J&K BSP) and other party leaders also remembered the contributions of Ambedkar.
To mark the occasion, Central Zone of National Conference organized a programme. Babu Ram Paul (president Central Zone) along with other office bearers of the Zone paid floral tributes to Dr B R Ambedkar on his death anniversary also known as ‘Mahaparinirvan Diwas’. Speaking on the occasion, Ram Paul said that Dr Ambedkar fought for economic and social empowerment of Dalits in the country and was the main architect of the Constitution of the Independent India.
NHPC Limited paid tribute to Baba Saheb at its Corporate Office. A special function was organized by NHPC SC/ST Employees Welfare Association on the occasion. During the function, A K Singh (CMD NHPC), Y K Chaubey Director (Technical), Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), A K Srivastava CVO, office-bearers and members of NHPC SC/ST Employees Welfare Association, other senior officers and employees of NHPC offered tributes to Dr Ambedkar.
The NSS Unit and Red Ribbon Club of Government Degree College (GDC) for Women, Kathua organized a debate competition on the theme “Mahaparinirvan Diwas” under the guidance of Principal Dr M S Pathania, who spoke about the life achievements of Dr Ambedkar and the role played by him as a leading activist and social reformer.
Government P G College Rajouri observed Mahaparinirvan Diwas by organizing a symposium on the life, achievement and contribution of Baba Saheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Huge gathering of students and teachers attended the event which was chaired by Manzoor Hussain General Manager DIC Rajouri and presided over by Prof (Dr) Shakeel Ahmed Raina.
To observe the Day, GDC Thannamandi organizes a symposium on life, achievements and contributions of Dr BR Ambedkar in drafting Constitution of India. The programme was organized. SDM Thannamandi Vikas Dhar was the chief guest on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest talked about the contribution of Dr Ambedkar as an architect of Constitution, a social reformer, an economist and a political activist.
To mark the occasion, GDC Darhal organized a seminar on the theme “Life and achievements of Dr B R Ambedkar”. Tahir Malik Assistant Commissioner Revenue Rajouri was the chief guest on the occasion. He threw light on the achievements of Father of Indian Constitution Dr B R Ambedkar.
GDC Mahanpur observed Mahaparinirvan by paying floral tributes to the photo of Dr B R Ambedkar in the College premises. Principal of the College Dr R K Koul, in his address, enlightened everyone about great influence of Baba Saheb in eradicating the social scourge of untouchability. He also mentioned that Dr Ambedkar was the chief architect of the Constitution of India.
Red Ribbon club GDC Sunderbani in collaboration with civil administration Sunderbani and Boys Higher Secondary School Sunderbani organized a symposium to observe the Day. A number of participants presented their views highlighting Baba Saheb’s life and contributions towards Indian Nation. Additional DC Sunderbani was the chief guest of the program.
All J&K Shri Sadguru Kabir Sabha observed Mahaparinirvan Diwas at Kabir/Budh Vihar Temple, near police station Bishnah. President of the Sabha F C Bhagat said that whole nation observes December 6 as Mahaparinirvan Divas every year to mark the death anniversary of Dr B R Ambedkar, who fought for economic and social empowerment of Dalits in the country.
Members of Batwal Youth Development Committee Jammu paid tributes to Bharat Ratna Dr Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar at a brief function held at Gopinath Vihar Udheywala here today. While Speaking R L Kaith said as the most recognized leader of Dalits and the Chief Architect of the Constitution of India, Dr Ambedkar’s contributions to the country’s social polity are unparalleled.
In Udhampur, Mazdoor Dastkar Union in collaboration with All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations organized a programme to observe Mahaparinirvana Diwas of Dr BR Ambedkar. RK Kalsotra, State president, All India Confederation of SC ST OBC Organizations was chief guest while Pradyot Gupta, Assistant Labour Commission, Udhampur, was also present.
