JAMMU, June 26: Rich tributes were paid to RSS ideologue and veteran K P leader, H L Chatta at all parties condolence meeting held here today organized by All State Kashmiri Pandit Conference (ASKPC) under the leadership of its senior vice president R K Raina.
A large number of members of KP community including men, women and youth participated in the meeting. The meeting was also attended by senior BJP leaders including former party chief Dr Nirmal Singh, BJP general secretary (organization) Ashok Koul, Shiban Khaibri a free launce journalist, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, president PK, Dr Agnishekhar, convener PK, Dr K L Choudhary, a well known writer, Kundan Kashmiri, president KPC, A K Raina, vice president, AIKS, Virender Raina, spoke-sperson PK, Prof B L Zuthsi, A K Sidha of PDP, B B Gosani president BJP Migrant Cell, Jawahar Lal Raina, ex-president Jhri Camp, Virender Kuchroo a social activist, Attan Ji Nehru and T N Bhat of BJP.
The speakers while highlighting the contribution of Mr Chatta termed him a pillar of nationalist movement in Kashmir who never hesitated in challenging the separatists and anti national elements in their den.
They said Mr Chatta was a bold leader who never cared for his own self and safety and strongly took on the forces inimical to national cause in the State.
They also recalled his role in serving the community during its mass exodus from Valley and in seeking admissions for the displaced students in professional colleges of the country.
They said his demise has created a great void and the community in particular and nation in general has lost its illustrious son. The gap created in his sudden demise could not be fulfilled soon.
Another condolence meet was held at Tirath Raj Martand in Anantnag under the leadership of M K Yogi in which rich tributes were paid to Chatta and Mrs Jattu wife of H N Jattu another senior KP leader and president AIKPC. Ganpatyar Prabandhak Samiti led by M L Kaul in a condolence meeting also mourned Kamta Jattus demise.
