SRINAGAR, July 31: Unknown persons today overpowered a cop deployed for security of former Minister and People’s Democratic Party leader, Haq Khan and snatched his service rifle in Kandhar area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
The cop identified as Mohammad Ishaq (belt no. 436) of 4th IRP battalion, was deployed for the security of Khan when the incident took place in Kandhar area of Maidanpora in Lolab.
A joint operation was launched by Army and Special Operations Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir against the persons responsible for weapon snatching.
