Rising Star Corps organizes Cycling Expedition

JAMMU, Sept 7: India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1965 war reinstated the supremacy of the Indian Army and reflected its resilience.
To commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the war, Rising Star Corps has organized a cycling expedition from Jammu to Delhi. The expedition comprising of 36 cyclists was flagged off from Jammu on September 4.
The expedition after halting at Samba and Mamun en-route on September 4 and 5 respectively to showcase the achievements of Indian Army in 1965 Operations reached Jalandhar Military Station on September 6, 15 after covering a distance of 124 kilometers.
As part of the celebration, the cycling team screened a documentary on 1965 War which was attended by a large gathering of Army personnel of Vajra Corps, their families and children.
The expedition was flagged off on 07 September 2015 by Colonel AS Kulkarni to Amritsar wherein they will be spreading the message upto Wagah Border.
Around 300 personnel of Vajra Corps bid farewell to the team for their onward journey to Amritsar.
