JAMMU, Aug 28: Ritvik Gupta defeated Maanay Mansotra by 3-0 in the finals of the Men’s Singles, whereas Iknoor Kaur emerged winner in Women’s final defeating Mishti Aggarwal by three games to nil.
The Men’s final was a close contest with both the players giving all they had but Ritvik Gupta closing on the final in style to take the match and championship by 3-1. Earlier, in the Men’s Semi Finals Pratham gave a tough resistance to Ritvik but finally went down by 3-2. In the other semi finals Maanay defeated Jayesh Singh by 3-2.
Mohammad Hanief, Chief Sports Officer, Sports council was chief guest who witnessed the final match and distributed the prizes amongst the winners. The tournament was organised by Jammu District Table Tennis Association under the aegis of J&K Table Tennis Association and in collaboration with J&K sports council under their initiative “My Youth My Pride.”
In Hops Boys Final (Under-11), Saiyam Nischal (winner), Runners up- Samar Bansal, Hops Girls Final (Under-11) (winner) Alena, Runners up- Syrah Dewan, Cadet Boys (Under 13), Ahaan (winner), Runners up- Samar, Cadet Girls (Under 13), winner- Srishti, runners up- Alena, Sub Junior Boys (Under 15), Winner- Gourav, Runners up- Samarth, Jr Girls (Under 17), winner- Mishti Aggarwal, Runners up- Hargun Kour, Junior Boys (Under 17), Winner- Ritvik Gupta, runners up- Pratham Raina.
