JAMMU, Jan 19: Ace fencer of J&K, Riya Bakshi has been selected for Senior Fencing World Cup, scheduled to be held in Egypt from February 23 to 26.
Secretary J&K Sports Council, Nuzat Gul praised the fencer for selecting in the upcoming prestigious championship.
Riya Bakshi is ranked 5th in India and has won individual Bronze in National Games held in Gujarat. She has also won two times Gold medals in Khelo India University Games and represented India in Senior Fencing World Cup at Seoul in Korea in 2022.
Riya Bakshi is trained by former international Gold medallist fencer and State Awardee, Ujjwal Gupta.
Convener Rashid Ahmed Choudhary and other members of Adhoc committee JKAFA congratulated her for this achievement.
