SRINAGAR, Jan 13: After a month-long break, I-League action returns to Kashmir as Real Kashmir Football Club (RKFC) prepares to face Sreenidi Deccan FC on Tuesday at the TRC Ground in Srinagar.
RKFC’s last home match was on December 9, after which the team played three away games across the country. With anticipation building, the team is eager to return to familiar ground and take on Sreenidi Deccan FC.
In a pre-match press conference, RKFC head coach Ishfaq Ahmad expressed his excitement about playing in front of the home crowd. “Fans are our strength. We hope they come in large numbers to support us. We aim not to disappoint them,†he said.
On the upcoming match, Ishfaq emphasized the strength of Sreenidi Deccan FC but expressed confidence in his team’s preparation. “Sreenidi is a strong side. Although we’ve had limited time to prepare after returning to Kashmir, we’re professional footballers, and we’ll overcome the challenges, including the cold weather,†he stated.
Lalram Sanga, RKFC player, also shared his enthusiasm about the match. RKFC, owned by Arshad Shawl, is the only team from Jammu and Kashmir participating in the I-League. Sreenidi Deccan FC assistant coach Ishant Singh and player Mohammad Sajid Dhot also addressed the media ahead of the fixture.
