JAMMU, Oct 9: Rashtriya Kavi Sangam, Jammu & Kashmir organized a state/ Union Territory level Sri Ram Kavya Paathh competition at Vishavkarma Sabha Bakshi Nagar, here today.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Additional Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture & Languages was the chief guest and Jang S. Verman and Vijay Mangotra were the special guests.
Eighteen finalist competitors took part in this competition. Out of these six competitors were selected further to take part in the national level competition to be held at New Delhi.
The participants of the competition were Dravin Mahajan, Madhu Sharma, Mamta Sharma, Nisha Thapa, Raveena Thapa, Shruti Sharma, Dhruti Sharma, Tavisha Mahajan, Rakshita Gupta, Taufique Malik, Pratibha Sharma, Tavishi Anand and Lalit Anthil. Samrudhi Sen, Ritambhara Vashist and Radha Rani got first, second and third positions, respectively. They were rewarded with cash award of Rs. 5,100, 3,100 and 2,100 respectively. Certificates of participation were given to all the participants.
Kavi Kewal Kumar Kewal, President, RKS told that the district level competition was held at online except for Samba district. Out of 270 participants eighteen were selected for final round at state/ UT level. Out of this six participants will participate in the national level competition at New Delhi. The first, second and third position holders in that competition will be given a cash award of Rs. 51,000, 31,000 and 21,000 respectively.
Sandeep Singh Jamwal, UT Sectretary conducted the proceedings of the programme.
Lokesh Sharma elaborated on the details of the competition and the programme.
Dr. Arvinder Singh Amn, Jang S. Verman and Vijay Mangotra appreciated the efforts made by the participants, their gaurdians and also appreciated RKS for organizing such events for inculcating values among the young chilren.
Dr Ashok Kumar Sharma, Sanjay Kumar and Randhir Raipuria were the judges for the competition.
Neelam Malhotr, Renu Bala and Bishan Singh Dardi were specially present in the programme.
