JAMMU, Feb 9: R M Public School celebrated its Sports Day cum 11th Foundation Day with full enthusiasm and zeal here today.
The festivities kicked off with a grand opening ceremony, where the entire school gathered to pay homage to the founder Late Dev Dutt Mengi.
The event began with the lighting of the torch followed by march past, different kinds of races, display of martial arts, club activities, Yoga, Gatka, Shiv Tandav, patriotic dance and the mind bending Bhangra performance. The academic achievers and sports achievers for the session 2022-were awarded with cheque of Rs 1000 each and medals respectively Deepak Gandotra received a cheque of Rs 15,000 for scoring 96% in class 12th, Riddhiman Thapa received a cheque of Rs 15,000 for scoring 98% in Class 10th, Diya Chark received a cheque of Rs 5000 for scoring 96.4% in Class 10th, Jiya Mahajan received a cheque of Rs 5,000 for scoring 92.5% in Class 10th and Janvi Langeh received a cheque of Rs 5000 for scoring 95% in class 10th.
The Chief Guest was Jyoti Rani Slathia, Special Secretary, Youth Services Department while the Presiding Guest was Colonel Anil Commandant 213 Transit Camp. Harvinder Kaur; ZEPO of Youth Service and Sports, Gurnam Singh, Naib Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat, Professor Adit Gupta, Director at Model Institute of Education and research, G.N Tantray, Chairman of Doon International School, Gambhir Dev Singh Chadak, Manager Rich Harvest School, Dr Dheeraj Jamwal Sharma: Managing Director, IDPS, Dr Rahul Kapoor Director cum Principal at Mount Litera Seniors Secondary School, Dr Ritesh Kapoor Principal Adarsh Shiksha Niketan School, Dr Atul Hans Principal IDRS Jammu, Ram Khajuria elected president of Tawi Trekkers J&K, Shalini Charak an outstanding sports climber and Abrar Choudhury an International athlete from Jammu were present.
Rameshwar Mengi in his empowering speech motivated students. Vice Principal of the School Dr Harvinder Kour presented an annual report and thanked everyone for their unconditional support.
