JAMMU, Oct 29: RM Public School organized Sports Day cum Grandparents day in its school premises, here today.
All the dignitaries were welcomed by the chairman of RM Public School, Rameshwar Mengi and the Trustee of the School Rita Mengi.
The function began with the welcome speech by the Principal Ravinder Kour.
The students gave guard of honour to the dignitaries.
Kavinder Gupta, Speaker of J&K Legislative Assembly was the chief guest on the occasion, while ID Soni, State Commissioner of Scouts and Guides was the guest of honour.
Swami Hridayanand ji was also present on the occasion.
Various sports activities were held during the day including Sack Race, three leg race, Frog race,simple race, car race, motorcycle race,tug of war and relay race.
The whole campus was decorated with colourful balloons and buntings with sports banners and charts.
The grandparents were welcomed by the showering flowers by the students and teachers. The winners of motorcycle race were Nash, Suman and Aarav. The winners of three leg race were Prabjot- Jatin, Karanvir – Ansh and Majid-Paramjeet Singh. 1st D won in the tug of war competition. The winners of frog race were Hargun, Aarav and Shorya. As the school also celebrate the grand parents day , there were some activities organized for them also. They enjoyed this event with their grand children. They took part in spoon race in which Arjinder Singh, Ashok Ji and Ravel Singh ji won the race.
In garland making competition, grandmothers took part. Arjinder Kour, Anita and Sheena Begum won the competition.
