RNTCP employees hold hunger strike, highlight demands

Contractual employees of RNTCP holding one day hunger strike at CD Hospital on Monday.

JAMMU, Aug 26: Contractual employees of Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) under the banner of All RNTCP Employees Association held one day hunger strike at CD Hospital, Bakshi Nagar.
The protestors led by president of the association Kuldeep Sharma opposed financial guidelines (salary part) and appealed to amend the differential salary hike released under new financial guidelines by central TB division, Government of India.
They demanded regularization of services as per GoI/ State policy for RNTCP contractual employees, who are fighting with this dreaded disease since 1997, equal pay for equal work, leave benefits as per State or Central norms and other benefits including provident fund, employees State insurance and risk allowance.
Meanwhile, Contractual employees of Revised National TB Control Programme (RNTCP) held protest in favour of their demands.
