AOI Christmas T20 Cricket Championship

JAMMU, Jan 1: Defeating their rivals in the quarterfinals, Road & Safety Department Cricket Club and Laxmi Cricket Club sealed berth in the semifinals of the ongoing “AOI Christmas T20 Cricket Championship which is being jointly organized by Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu, Christian Sports Organization Jammu and supported by American Oncology Institute, Horizon Group of Companies, KC Sports Club and Parade Sports Association Jammu.
The co sponsors of the championship are South Indian Bank, Federal Bank Jammu, Mahajan Special Rice Jammu and Vivo.
Road & Safety Department Club defeated New Rising Cricket Club by 6 wickets.
Batting first, New Rising Cricket Club scored 143 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 18 overs with Sunny (42), Dimple (31) and Kannav (27) being the main scorers. From Road & Safety, RK Bhat, Dinesh, Vinay and Mohd Asif took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Road & Safety chased the target in the 15.2 overs by losing 4 wickets thus won the match by 6 wickets. Istiaq scored unbeaten 74 runs and Yasir contributed 38 runs. From bowling side, Kavit took 2 wickets while Sunny and Ashu claimed 1 wicket each. Ishtiaq was adjudged as the man of the match.
In another quarterfinal, Laxmi Cricket Club defeated Champions Cricket Club by 5 wickets.
Batting first, Champions Cricket Club scored 96 runs in 16 overs. Mohit (45) and Sourav Sharma (15) were the main scorers. Santbaksh and Rocky took 4 wickets each while Tapan claimed 1 wicket.
In reply, Laxmi Cricket Club chased the target in 13.2 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Pardeep Bali top scored with 38 runs, while Vinayak contributed 26 runs. Rohan chipped in with 12 runs. From Champions Club, Bhannu took 2 wickets while Anchal, Rohit and Sachin claimed 1 wicket each. Rocky was declared as the man of the match.
SSP RK Bhat was the chief guest on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lavished praise on the organisers for holding the mega event in a befitting manner.
