Robbery case solved; 4 arrested with stolen cash, pistol

JAMMU, May 3: Police solved a robbery case with the arrest of four persons and recovery of stolen cash and country made pistol.
This was stated by Superintendent of Police (SP) Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal while interacting with media persons here today.
Divulging details of the case, SP stated that on April 26 this year, a complaint was lodged by Parladh Singh, son of Balbir Singh of Gurha Brahmana Tehsil Pargwal with Police Station Akhnoor stating that he along with 4 medical representatives and employee of Ajay Medicine Traders Jammu were on their way to Rajouri from Jammu in their Innova car bearing registration number JKO2BD-4071.
“When complaint along with his associates reached near Kappa Galla, a Maruti-800 car bearing fake registration number JK-11-3565 stopped their vehicle and three persons got down. One of them fired upon the rear tyre of Innova car with the country made pistol and other person snatched key of car while the third person snatched two bags having approximately Rs 8 lakh. After that they fled away towards Akhnoor”, SP informed.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 78/18 under Sections 341, 323, 392 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started, SP said, adding that a special team was constituted, which was headed by Munish Anand, SDPO Akhnoor and comprising of SHO Akhnoor Inspector Shivdev Singh and Incharge Police Post Chowki Choura SI Ravi Kumar.
SP stated that on the basis of human and technical inputs a number of places were raided and finally four accused identified as Nitish Sharma alias Munna, son of Parshotam Lal of Nikkian, Banni Gupta, son of Lok Raj Gupta of Ward Number 3 RS Pura, Arjun Singh alias Makhan, son of Bachan Singh of Nikkian and Rohit Manhas, son of Sukhdeep Singh of Pangali Colony Tehsil Akhnoor were arrested.
“On their disclosure, stolen cash and weapon (country made pistol) were recovered”, SP said, adding that further investigation into the case is going on.
He also informed that teams from Jammu North and South Zones and Police Component also helped to crack this robbery case.
