Rohit accorded special award in NZS Chess Tournament

JAMMU, Oct 11: Rohit Sharma of Residential School for Blind (RSB), Roop Nagar, Jammu, was accorded a special award for a state for his top performance among the three players of RSB, who participated in the North Zone Selection Chess Tournament for the Blind, 2014 at New Delhi.
J&K was the only State to be accorded with such an award. The other blind inmates of RSB who participated in the tournament were Amarjeet and Rashpal Singh.
A total of 118 blind chess players all over the North Zone States participated in the tournament out of which around 88 were International rated chess players.
All the three players of RSB, who represented J&K in the tournament played well under the coaching of superintendent, RSB, Mohit Bharti.
