JAMMU, Mar 20: Rohit Kumar of Jammu district created 200 meters record clocking 22:45 seconds in the ongoing 19th J&K Athletics Championship, organised by J&K Amateur Athletics Association (JKAAA) and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council (JKSC), at University of Jammu Grounds, here today.
“The timing is best ever given by any athlete in J&K in 200 meters event. Rohit is expected to give improved performance in his tomorrow’s 100 meters event too,” said general secretary, Sharat Chander Singh.
President, SS Gill and secretary, Vinod Bhatia appreciated Rohit for giving his best timing and hoped that he may find berth in the future India camps so as to further improve his skills and performance.
In girls U-14 (60 mts) Gurdev Kour, Jhanvi Sharma and Naysa Singh stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd, whereas in 600 mts, Owais Yousuf Khanday, Imran Mushtaq Khanday and Rasiq Ahmad (Anantnag) bagged top three positions respectively and in 600 mts girls, Gurdev Kour, Sunekha Kumari and Sohana Devi clinched top three places.
In U-16 (100 mts), Sidhani Singh, Shranya Devi and Mannat Sharma secured top three positions, whereas in Discus Throw, Tanvi Sharma, Tanvi Katal and Vanshika Sharma won top three positions, and in 300 mts, Shranya, Chetna Kumari and Rinki Tomar stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd besides in U-18 (100 mts), top three positions were clinched by Tanvi Kohli, Tannu and Trupti Shrisath while in 200 mts, Tanvi Kohli, Dhamini Sharma and Tanu remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in 200 mts, Sourav Singh, Gourav Singh and Kartik Sharma bagged top three positions, whereas in Discus Throw, Tania Kumar, Mehak and Veeenika Charak clinched top three positions while in Shot Put, top three places were won by Tania Kumari, Mehakdeep and Veenika Charak.
In U-20 (100 mts), top three places were claimed by Shivani Thakur, Kanchan Devi and Kajal Sharma, whereas in 200 mts: Shivani Thakur, Palvi Choudhary and Pragatee Abrol stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in long jump: top position were bagged by Kanchan Devi, Kajal Sharma and Shakshi Andotra respectively.
In open (100 mts), top three places were secured by Kussum Chib, Sonali Dogra and Gagandeep Kour, whereas in Shot Put, Mandeep Kour, Jasvinder Kour and Suman Kumari stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in 1500 mts, Pooja Devi, Zareena Akhtar and Anu Devi clinched top three positions besides in Discus Throw, Jasvinder Kour, Seema Devi and Surbhi Sharma secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions while in 200 mts, Sonali Dogra, Renu Devi and Gagandeep Kour bagged three positions.
In boys U-14 long jump, top three positions were clinched by Aditya Chib, Aman (Jammu) and Divjot Singh, whereas in 60 mts, Owais Yousuf, Imran Mushtaq Bhat and Aman Singh Tomar stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and in Shot Put, Krishma Swayn, Akshay Kumar and Tanish Dalotra remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd besides in Shot Put, Palvi Choudhary, Manya Sharma and Mansvi Rajput baggd top three positions respectively.
In U-16 (100 mts) Dheeraj Billowria, Aman Singh and Nazakat Hussain stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd , whereas in 400 mts, top three positions were won by Dilshan Singh, Sunil Roy and Suraj Kumar, and in Shot Put, top three places were secured by Chetana Kumari, Vanshika Sharma and Suhani Khokkar besides in 800 Shahnawaz Suliyman, Dheeraj Billowria and Rajan Anand bagged top three places whereas in long jump, Sameer Kumar, Nikhil Chib and Paras Sharma clinched top three places and in long jump: Tanvir Singh, Sulakshay and Dilshan secured top three positions while in Shot Put, top three places were clinched by Nikhil Chib, Sarabjeet Hira and Sameer Kumar.
In 300 mts, Nazakat Hussain, Tanvir Singh and Aman Sharma bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, whereas in 2000 mts, top three positions were won by Maqsood Ahmed, Sahil Ahmed and Manatpreet Singh.
In U-18 (100 mts), Udhay Sharma, Sorav Singh and Akhil Singh bagged top three positions, whereas in 1500 mts, Vishal Sharma, Pavneet Singh and Gourav Choudhary stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd and in Shot Put, top three positions were bagged by Yuvraj Singh, Kartik Sangral and Anshjot Singh while in 800 mts, Gourav Choudhary, Tarnu Nagotra and Raj Kumar stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd while Anshjot Singh, Amanjot Singh and Harjyot Kumar also remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.
In 3000 mts, Ganesh Singh, Rajat Sanmotra and Sehjaja Niak remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd, whereas in 400 mts, top three positions were bagged by Goldy Singh, Amit Manhas and Tarun Nagotra and in Long Jump, Akhil Manhas, Harsh Jamwal and Rinku Singh bagged top three positions while Rinku Tomar, Suhani Khokar and Mannat Bhagat also bagged top three positions in Long Jump.
In U-20, 800 mts, Sumit Choudhary, Harsh Kumar and Parveen Kumar stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, whereas in 200 mts, Amarjeet Singh, Ankush Magotra and Arjun Kumar clinched top three positions respectively, and in 1500 mts, top three places were clinched by Sumit Choudhary, Gumeet and Mohd Latif, while in 400 mts, Amarjeet Singh, Ankush Magotra and Sanjeev Kumar bagged top three places and in Discus Throw, top three prizes were secured by Syed Furqan, Faizan Farooq and Kapil Dev Singh.
In 5000 mts, Sagar Kumar, Shubam Katal and Aman Sharma stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd, whereas in Long Jump, Shahid Choudhary, Parupkar Singh and Syed remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively and in Shot Put, Mohd Saleem, Ayush Koul and Faizan Farooq claimed top three positions.
In open (200 mts) top three positions were bagged by Rohit Kumar, Iftkhar Ahmad and Danish Yousuf, whereas in 800 mts, top three places were bagged by Mohd Muneer, Ashwani Kant and Rahul Prajapati and in Shot Put, Manpreet Singh, Mohd Azam and Sourav Sharma remained 1st, 2nd and 3rd, while in 400 mts, Kewal Singh, Ankush Sharma and Pankaj Kumar Sharma stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd besides in Discus Throw, Manpreet Singh, Sourav Sharma and Harsimran Singh bagged top three positions respectively, while in 5000 mts, top three positions were won by Tahir Aziz, Hans Raj and Balwinder Singh, and in Long Jump, Jai Kumar, Sameer Mohi-ud-Din and Zubair Ahmad stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, whereas in 1500 mts, Mohd Muneer, Ashwani Kant and Rahul Prajapati clinched top three positions respectively.
