MENDHAR, Aug 26: The Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under the aegis of Counter Insurgency Force (Romeo) organised a Painting and Quiz Competition for school students at Degree College, Mendhar here today. The students of Mendhar, Chhatral, Harni and Mankote Villages participated in the competition. The Competitions were organized for three categories, first category were students upto class 8th, second for class 9th and 10th and the third for class 11th and 12th. About 100 students participated in the competition.
The students took active part with enthusiasm to showcase their talent in both the competitions and they put their efforts. The beautiful and imaginative paintings made the event more colourful. In the quiz competition, the students were tested on a variety of subjects which included science, geography, mathematics, sports and current affairs. The performance of the participating students was encouraging and they impressed the audience with their general knowledge and awareness.
The event was witnessed by teachers, parents, sarpanches and panches of Mendhar, Chhatral, Harni and Mankot Villages. Mr Shabeed Hussai Shah, Principal, Government Degree College, Mendhar thanked and expressed profound gratitude towards the Army for organising the event. The event culminated with distribution of prizes to all participants as a token of appreciation for their efforts.
