Rotary Club, JKEE provide Hearing Aid to child

JAMMU, Feb 26: Rotary Club Jammu under the guidance of its president, Dr. Anil K. Amla and in association with JK Electronic Ears (JKEE) here today helped a five years old child by giving him Hearing Aid at JKEE Prime Speech & Hearing Clinic.
On this occasion Dr. Navneet Gupta, Assistant Professor, Department of ENT ASCOMS Jammu and Assistant Governor RID 3070 said some time back he came to know that the child Master Riyansh was unable to speak and hear.
“After complete assessment the child was diagnosed with profound hearing loss. So he was fitted with strong class hearing aid to make him hear properly,” he maintained.
Child was also counselled by Dr Navneet Gupta at ASCOMS & Hospital and by JKEE team for regular intensive speech and language therapy for his speech and language development.
Dr Gupta also counselled child’s parents that if the child will not get significant benefit in terms of hearing and speech language development within 4-6 months then he would be sent for Cochlear implant surgery in collaboration with Rotary Club Jammu.
Dr Anil Amla promised that the child will be given further aid if he requires any further treatment in this regard.
He also announced that a complete soundproof van fitted with all modern equipments for screening of children from 0 to 6 months age for hearing problem will be dedicated to the general public of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and J&K on 14/15 March 2020 at Palampur District Conference.
