Rotary Club organizes free multi-specialty health camp

JAMMU, Oct 3: Rotary Club Jammu Tawi today organized a free multi-specialty health camp at Rotary Bhawan, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Doctors from Medanta, the Medicity Gurgaon gave free consultation to patients in Cardiology, Neurology, Orthopedics and Breast Cancer. Besides, various diagnostics including ECG were conducted for free.
Kuldeep Khoda, Chief Vigilance Commissioner, J&K, who was the chief guest, inaugurated the camp in the morning. On the occasion, he also released Rotary Club’s news letter ‘Trikuta’ in the presence of Dr SK Taneja (Cardiology), Dr Krishna Soni (Neurology), Dr Kanchan Kour (Breast Cancer), Dr Monika (Orthopedics) and Dr Jasbir Kour (Gynecology) and other Rotarians
While speaking on the occasion, the chief guest lauded the efforts of Rotary Club and Medanta for holding the camp. He also appreciated various philanthropic activities being conducted by the Club. Khoda also recommended some new areas to Rotary Club for action in near future.
Earlier, Ashok Gupta, president, Rotary Club Jammu Tawi, welcomed the chief guest and other dignitaries including doctors from Medanta.
In the evening, Health talks were delivered by Dr SK Taneja and Dr Kanchan Kour for heart care, bone and precautions for Breast Cancer to members of Rotary Club, Inner Wheel, Rotaract and interact clubs.
Sheetal Nanda, IAS, was the chief guest in the evening function. While speaking on the occasion she said that public awareness of various diseases is the need of the hour since it prevents various ailments and therefore is better than treatment of diseases later on.
Later, she presented mementoes to doctors and organizers of Rotary Club as a token of recognition of their services to the society.
Rotarians—Sunil Jain, Vijay Sharma and Jatinder Gandhok, Aseem Tandon, Naveen Anand and VK Mehra also spoke on the occasion.
