JAMMU, Nov 18: Rouf Rashid of Kashmir division bagged gold in Under-14 boys shot put and long jump events of the State Level Inter-Division Athletic Meet, which got underway at Jammu University Grounds, here today.
In shot put Under-17 boys, Faizan Mukhtar of Kashmir division clinched gold and in shot put Under-19 boys, the gold medal went to Rehman Ali of Kashmir division, while long jump Under-17 and Under-19 gold medal went to Rajinder Kumar and Deepak Yadav of Jammu division respectively.
500 mtr Under-19 boys gold was bagged by Ajay Kumar of Jammu division, while triple jump gold in Under-17 and Under-19 boys went to Kajal Singh and Deepak Yadav of Jammu respectively.
Sajjad Hussain, Inderjeet Singh and Yaar Mohd (all from Jammu) clinched 100 mtr sprint gold in Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 boys respectively.
In 400 mtr Under-14, Undeer-17 and Under-19 boys, the gold medals went to Arjun Kumar, Inderjeet Singh and Mohd Asif (all from Jammu) respectively, while 800 mtr Under-17 and Under-19 boys gold was bagged by Mohd Abbas and Ishtaq Ahmed of Jammu respectively.
Ajay Kumar of Jammu claimed gold in 600 mtr Under-14 boys event, while 4×100 gold in Under-14, Under-17 and Under-19 boys went to Kashmir division, Jammu division and Jammu division respectively.
In all, Jammu division won 16 gold, while Kashmir division claimed 5 gold medals in the event which was participated by around 100 athletes drawn from both the divisions.
The Meet is being organized by the Department of Youth Services and sports under the patronage of Navin Agarwal, Director General YSS, while Deputy Director, Ved Prakash is the chairman of the Meet and the event is being held under the supervision of Tirath Ram, DYSSO, Jammu.
